If you experience audio skipping or stuttering with your Q31i, it is usually related to the Bluetooth connection quality, or to the audio/video app and network. Most cases can be resolved by following the steps below.
Before You Start: Please make sure the headphone is powered on and connected to a device.
-
Audio/video app compatibility: Some apps (such as video or gaming apps) may cause audio stuttering due to their own decoding. Try playing the same content in a different app, or check whether the app's settings offer a "Bluetooth audio optimization" option.
-
Audio codec: The high-resolution LDAC codec may be less stable on some phones. Go to the phone's Bluetooth settings or Developer options and switch the Bluetooth audio codec to AAC or SBC, which offer better compatibility.
-
Environmental interference: Wi-Fi routers, microwaves, and other Bluetooth devices can interfere with the Bluetooth signal. Stay away from these interference sources while using the headphone, or turn off nearby wireless devices that are not in use.
-
Distance and obstacles: Make sure there are no walls or metal objects between the headphone and the phone, and keep the usage distance within 10 meters.
-
Network signal: When streaming audio or video online, a poor network signal can make the audio source itself unstable. Confirm that the phone's current network signal is good.
-
Phone antenna orientation in a pocket: If you keep the phone in your pocket, orient the phone's antenna side toward the headphone and avoid pointing the antenna toward the ground. If you are not sure which side of your phone has the antenna, try placing the phone in your pocket in different orientations and test which gives the most stable connection.
-
Bluetooth version: A large gap between the phone's Bluetooth version and the headphone's can affect connection stability. Confirm that your phone supports Bluetooth 5.0 or above.
-
Multiple connected devices: If your phone is connected to multiple Bluetooth devices at the same time (such as a smartwatch or speaker), they may share audio resources. Disconnect other Bluetooth devices and try again.
-
Test with another device: Connect the headphone to another phone or tablet. If the audio is stable on the other device, the issue is likely related to the original device's settings or compatibility.
