What Should I Do If I Notice Battery or Charging Issues on My soundcore Q31i?

This guide helps with two types of battery-related issues on your Q31i: battery life that feels shorter than expected, and the headphone not charging. Most cases can be resolved by checking your usage conditions and charging setup.

Battery Life Shorter Than Expected

The advertised battery life is measured under specific conditions: 50% volume, factory default settings, no extra features, and looping a specified track. Since real-world usage differs, the actual battery life will naturally vary—this is normal, not a fault. If yours feels noticeably shorter than expected, it is usually caused by factors such as volume above 50%, extra features (3D Sound, Adaptive ANC), the LDAC codec, or a loose fit. Check the steps below to identify and adjust the cause.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check the volume: Higher volume consumes more power. If you use a volume above 50%, the battery life will naturally be shorter than the advertised figure.

  2. Check the audio content: Different audio files and playback methods affect power consumption. Streaming online, high-bitrate files, or complex audio content may consume more power. Battery tests typically loop a specified track (such as "Hotel California", "Ferry", or "Billie Jean").

  3. Check the wearing state: In ANC mode, if the headphone does not fit tightly (for example, sound leakage occurs), it may consume more power and shorten the battery life.

  4. Check the Bluetooth codec: Different Bluetooth codecs consume different amounts of power. Under the same usage conditions, LDAC mode may shorten the battery life by about 20% compared to SBC mode. You can test different codecs to find the best balance between sound quality and battery life.

  5. Check extra features: Confirm whether features such as Adaptive ANC or other auxiliary features in the app are enabled. Turn them off when not needed, as they increase power consumption.

  6. Check the charging conditions: If the headphone is not fully charged, the battery life will naturally be shorter. Check whether the charging port or contacts are dirty and affecting charging efficiency. Try replacing the charging cable and charger to rule out charging issues.

The Headphone Won't Charge

How to tell if it is charging: When you plug in the charging cable, the red light stays solid to indicate charging, and turns off when it is fully charged (about 2 hours). If the red light does not turn on at all, the headphone may not be charging or may be unresponsive.

If the headphone does not charge, please check the following steps in order:

  1. Check the charging environment. Make sure the ambient temperature is between 0°C and 45°C. Outside this range, the headphone may not charge properly.

  2. Try replacing the charging cable and charger to confirm whether it is an accessory issue.

  3. Use a suitable charger. We recommend using a 5V/1A charger. Using a charger with too high an output power may affect charging stability and is not recommended.

Notes: To protect the headphone's battery, we recommend using a 5V/1A charger with a standard Type-C cable, and avoiding charging through a computer's USB port.
