When you first receive your soundcore Q31i, follow the steps below to get it set up and ready to use.
Step 1: Download the soundcore App
Download and install the soundcore app from Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). The app is essential for getting the most out of your headphone—here's what you can do with it:
-
Firmware updates: Update the firmware to fix bugs, optimize features, and keep the headphone working at its best.
-
ANC level and button settings: Adjust the ANC level to match your environment, and customize the NC button settings (you can even set it so ANC does not switch).
-
EQ settings: Choose a preset EQ or create a custom EQ to match your personal sound preference.
-
Nap mode: Configure the MFB long-press to enter Nap mode, set a sleep timer, and more.
-
Dual-device preferences: Enable or disable multipoint connection, and disconnect or delete paired devices.
-
E-warranty card registration and warranty claims: Register your product's e-warranty card to activate your warranty coverage and submit claims faster.
Running an outdated firmware version may cause compatibility issues, unresponsive buttons, or unstable performance, so keeping the firmware up to date through the app is important.
Step 2: Power On and Pair with Your Phone
Power on: Press and hold the Power button for about 2 seconds until the white light flashes—the headphone powers on and automatically enters pairing mode.
Bluetooth pairing: On your phone, turn on Bluetooth, search for "Anker soundcore Q31i", and connect. The blue light flashes rapidly while pairing and turns off 3 seconds after a successful connection.
For daily use after the first pairing, the headphone will automatically reconnect to the last used device when powered on.
Step 3: Connect the Headphone in the soundcore App
Once the headphone is paired with your phone via Bluetooth, add it in the soundcore app:
-
Open the soundcore app.
-
Tap "Add Device" on the main screen.
-
Select the headphone icon.
-
Select your model from the list to complete the setup.
If you cannot find the headphone in the app, make sure it is already connected to your phone via Bluetooth first, then try the steps above again.
Step 4: Update the Firmware
After the headphone is connected in the app, check for firmware updates right away:
-
Open the soundcore app.
-
If new firmware is available, an update prompt will appear—follow the instructions to update.
-
You can also check manually: go to "Settings" (top-right corner) > "Update firmware".
-
Do not disconnect the headphone, close the app, or turn off your network during the update.
Step 5: Charging
The headphone usually has some charge out of the box, so you can start using it right away. When you do charge it, we recommend using the charging cable included in the box with a 5V/1A charger—the red light stays solid while charging and turns off when it is fully charged (about 2 hours).
Step 6: Wear the Headphone and Adjust for the Best Fit
Put on the headphone and adjust the headband and ear cushions to find a comfortable fit. Make sure to wear the left and right sides correctly—wearing them on the wrong sides may affect ANC performance and call quality. A good fit also helps the ANC work at its best.
