How much noise cancellation you notice depends on how well the earbuds seal your ears, the type of noise around you, and your own hearing sensitivity. This article covers what to check, in the order that makes the most difference.
Start with the Fit
The seal the earbuds form in your ear canal has the biggest influence on noise cancellation performance.

Try different sizes of ear tips and ear wings to find a pair that seals well. It's common for one ear to need a different size than the other, so try mixing sizes — for example, a medium tip on the left and a large tip on the right.

Insert the earbuds and twist them gently until they feel secure, rather than pushing them straight in.

Confirm the seal with the Eartip Fit Test in the soundcore app (App > Earbuds Home Page > More Settings > Fit Test).
Then Consider Your Environment
Not all noise is equally easy to cancel. Low, steady sounds like engine hum are reduced more effectively than sharp, high-frequency, or irregular sounds. In more complex or changing environments, the difference in performance is more noticeable.

Test the earbuds in a different environment to see whether the result changes.

If Level 5 still doesn't feel like enough in a particularly noisy place, try Airplane Mode (Home > Ambient Sound > Noise Cancellation Mode), which is intended for especially loud, sustained environments.
If One Side Feels Different from the Other

Check whether one ear tip or wing size seals better than the other, and try different size combinations for your left and right ears.

Put the earbuds back on, adjust the wearing angle, and confirm both sides seal properly with the Eartip Fit Test.

Place the earbuds in the case and close the lid. Once they disconnect, reopen the case and wear them again.

If the difference is still noticeable, reset the earbuds and test again.
Please Note:
Noise cancellation reduces ambient noise rather than removing it completely, and some ambient noise may remain — especially in loud environments. We don't quote a fixed dB figure for this reason: the reduction you actually experience varies with your seal, your environment, and your hearing.
