What should I know if the noise cancellation effect on Anker soundcore Space 2 Pro is not as expected?

Anker soundcore Space 2 Pro is designed to provide effective noise cancellation and a comfortable listening experience.

If noise cancellation seems weaker than expected, background noise is still noticeable, or you feel ear pressure while using Noise Cancellation Mode, the issue may be related to fit, ANC settings, microphone condition, or the surrounding environment.

Please refer to the following information for common noise cancellation situations and troubleshooting steps.

1. If noise cancellation is not working as well as expected, or if you hear unusual sounds, try the following steps in order:

a. Check the Fit

Make sure the ear cups fully cover your ears and fit closely against your head. ANC relies heavily on a good physical seal. If the fit is loose, external noise can enter through the gaps and reduce the noise-cancellation effect.

Turning your head may also change the seal. After putting on the headphones, slightly adjust the ear cups toward your face to reduce gaps behind your ears.

b. Confirm the Mode

Open the soundcore app and make sure the headphones are in Noise Cancellation mode. Noise cancellation has 5 levels, with the highest level enabled by default. Level 5 is Adaptive ANC, which automatically adjusts the effect based on your fit and surrounding noise. The other levels use fixed settings. Choose the level that works best for you.

c. Clean the Noise-Cancellation Microphones

If the microphone openings are blocked by dust or debris, noise cancellation may be affected. Gently clean the microphone area with a soft, dry cloth or reusable adhesive putty.

Note: Do not use liquid cleaners.

d. Understand What ANC Can Reduce

Noise cancellation is generally most effective against steady, low-frequency sounds such as airplane cabin noise, train noise, and air-conditioner hum. It may be less effective against voices, alarms, horns, and other sudden or higher-frequency sounds. In very quiet environments, the effect may also be less noticeable.

2. What should I do if there is noticeable background noise in Noise Cancellation mode?

If you notice excessive background noise in ANC mode, try the following:

a. Adjust the Fit

Make sure the ear cushions are positioned evenly and form a secure seal against your head. A loose seal may reduce ANC performance and make environmental noise more noticeable.

b. Check the Surrounding Environment

Take off the headphones and listen to the environment directly. Noise cancellation cannot eliminate every type of sound. It reduces environmental noise through a combination of active noise cancellation and passive sound isolation.

3. What should I do if I feel ear pressure when using Noise Cancellation mode?

The headphones enter Noise Cancellation mode by default when powered on. Strong noise cancellation may create a noticeable sensation of ear pressure for some users.

You can reduce this sensation by:

1. Lowering the noise-cancellation level in the soundcore app.

2. Switching to Transparency mode or another listening mode.

Note: You may notice a change in the sound signature when ANC is enabled, including a difference in how prominent the bass sounds. This can occur as part of the headphone's ANC and audio processing. If you prefer a different sound, choose another EQ preset or create a custom EQ in the soundcore app.
