How to Troubleshoot Unwanted Sounds on soundcore Space One

If you hear a faint hum, hiss, or buzz through your Space One headphones, a few adjustments can usually minimize it. The right steps depend on when the sound appears, so match your situation to the sections below.

Buzzing or Humming Under ANC

What it sounds like: A low-pitched hum or hiss that is present only when ANC is turned on, more noticeable in quiet environments.

  1. Reduce the ANC level in the soundcore app. Higher ANC depth produces more noticeable background hiss. Lowering it by one or two levels often reduces the noise significantly.

  2. Check the ear cup seal. A poor seal around the ears can cause a humming sound under ANC, especially if there is low-frequency noise in the surrounding environment (e.g., air conditioning, airplane cabin). Adjust the headband and ear cup position so the cushions make full contact with your head.

  3. Clean the ANC microphones on the outer side of the ear cups. Clogged microphone holes can disrupt the ANC feedback loop, causing abnormal noise. Gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth or Blu-Tack. Do not use liquid cleaners.

Electrical Humming or Buzzing When Using AUX Cable

What it sounds like: A constant electrical buzz when using the 3.5mm AUX cable, especially while the connected device is also charging.

  1. Unplug the charging cable from the device you are connected to and use battery power only. Charging while using AUX-in is the most common cause of electrical noise — the charging circuit introduces ground loop interference into the audio path.

  2. If you must charge while using AUX, use a three-prong grounded plug for the charger. This provides a proper ground path and may reduce or eliminate the hum.

Voice Distortion or Excessive Noise During Calls

What it sounds like: The other person's voice sounds distorted, crackly, or there is excessive background noise during phone calls.

  1. Lower the headphone volume. Some phones output high power, and when the headphone volume is set too high, voice distortion or excessive call noise can occur. Reduce the volume by a few steps and check if the distortion improves.

  2. Stay within range. Ensure your phone is within 3 meters (10 feet) of the headphones, with no walls or metal obstacles in between. Poor Bluetooth signal quality during calls can introduce audio artifacts.

Excessive Noise in Transparency Mode

What it sounds like: When transparency mode is on, ambient noise sounds louder than expected or amplified.

  1. Try a quieter environment first. Transparency mode feeds external sound into the headphones so you stay aware of your surroundings — this naturally includes ambient noise. Move to a quieter area and check if the noise level feels normal there.

  2. Adjust the Transparency level in the soundcore app. If the ambient amplification feels too strong, lowering the level reduces the amount of outside sound fed through.

Noise When Switching Between Music and Calls (Hands-Free vs. Stereo Mode)

What it sounds like: Audio quality suddenly drops with noticeable noise or hiss — commonly on a computer after opening system sound settings, or when switching between music and a call.

Why this happens: Headphones use two different Bluetooth modes. Stereo mode delivers low noise and good quality for music (microphone off). Hands-Free mode (HFP) is designed for two-way voice and has more noise and lower quality (microphone on).

  1. On Windows: Make sure the playback device is set to "soundcore Space One Stereo" (not "Hands-Free AG Audio") for music listening.

  2. On macOS: Avoid leaving the Sound input settings page open — it forces the headphones into Hands-Free mode, which causes the sudden drop in audio quality.

Environmental Wireless Interference

Wireless interference from nearby devices can cause audio artifacts including pops, crackles, and intermittent static.

  1. Move away from interference sources such as Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, other active Bluetooth devices, and USB 3.0 hubs.

  2. Keep the headphones close to your device — within 3 meters (10 feet), with no walls or metal objects in between.

General Troubleshooting

If none of the specific sections above match your symptom, or if the noise occurs sporadically across different scenarios, try these steps:

1.Factory Reset

  1. Turn on the headphones.

  2. Press and hold the Power button + Volume Up button for 5 seconds.

  3. The power indicator light will flash slowly three times in red, indicating the factory reset has started.

2.Test with a Different Device

Connect Space One to another phone or computer. If the noise disappears, the issue is with the original device, not the headphones.

3.Update Firmware

Open the soundcore app and check for updates under Settings → Update Firmware. Outdated firmware can cause audio processing abnormalities.
