If your Space One headphones don't power on right away, the steps below will help you get them running again. Most situations can be resolved in a few minutes without any special tools.
Make Sure You Are Pressing the Power Button Correctly
Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to turn on the headphones. You should hear a power-on tone followed by a battery level voice prompt, and the power indicator will flash white three times.
A quick press or a press shorter than 3 seconds will not register as a power-on command.
Charge the Headphones and Check the Indicator Light
A drained battery is the most common reason headphones won't turn on. Plug the headphones into a charger and check for the indicator light:
Charging requirements:
-
Use a 5V/1A or higher certified charger. Low-quality or underpowered chargers may not deliver enough current (the headphones draw 530–560mA).
-
Charging via a computer USB port may take significantly longer.
-
Full charge time is approximately 2 hours.
-
The headphones can only charge when the ambient temperature is between 0°C and 45°C (32°F–113°F). If the environment is too cold or too hot, move to a suitable location and try again.
Check the Charging Port and Cable
-
Inspect the USB-C charging port for dust, debris, or foreign objects. If anything is inside, carefully clean it out with a dry soft brush or a pointed cotton swab. Let the port dry for 24 hours if any liquid has entered before charging again.
-
Try a different charging cable and charger. A faulty cable or adapter is a common cause of charging failures. Test with a known working combination.
Check If Auto Power-Off Is Enabled
Space One has an automatic power-off feature. When the headphones are not being worn and no audio is playing, they will shut down automatically:
-
ANC mode: shuts down after 1 hour of standby
-
Normal mode: shuts down after 30 minutes of standby
This is normal behavior, not a malfunction. If the headphones keep turning off unexpectedly, you can change the auto power-off duration in the soundcore app under Settings → Auto Power Off.
Restart the Headphones
If the headphones still won't turn on after charging, try restarting them:
Method 1: Hard Reset (Charge Activation)
-
Connect the headphones to a 5V/1A charger.
-
Charge for 5 seconds.
-
Unplug the charging cable.
-
Manually press the power button to turn on the headphones.
Method 2: Factory Reset
-
Turn on the headphones.
-
Press and hold the Power button + Volume Up button for 5 seconds.
-
The power indicator light will flash slowly three times in red, confirming the reset has started.
Note: After a factory reset, all function settings return to their defaults. For example, Wear Detection will be turned off. Reconfigure your preferred settings in the soundcore app afterward.
Update Firmware
If the headphones power on briefly but then shut down, or exhibit erratic behavior, outdated firmware may be the cause:
-
Open the soundcore app.
-
If a firmware update pop-up appears, follow the on-screen instructions.
-
You can also manually check under Settings → Update Firmware.
Keep the headphones close to your phone and do not disconnect Bluetooth or close the app during the update.
Long-Term Battery Care
To prevent battery issues from developing:
-
Use the headphones at least once a month. Letting the battery sit fully drained for extended periods can cause over-discharge, which permanently damages battery capacity.
-
Avoid draining to 0% regularly. Charge before the battery drops below 20% when possible.
-
If storing long-term, charge the headphones to around 50–70% every 6 months.
