One unit of the headphones can be removed from the charging case and used on its own. In this case, only the unit that has been removed from the charging case will turn on.

If you are using two earbuds, you can put the earbud you don't want to use into the charging case and continue using the other one on its own.

Please note that if you are wearing two earbuds and listening in ANC mode, it will automatically switch to Transparency mode when you return one earbud to the charging case. You can customize the settings in the app if you want to use ANC mode when using one earbud. 

If you wear the second earbud again, Transparency mode will automatically switch back to ANC mode.
