The Soundcore speaker is designed primarily for listening to music, and the mic is not designed to be a main feature of the speaker, but a side benefit. 

The speaker is indeed designed to be hands-free, but the user must speak directly towards the speaker. Please speak directly to the speaker to see if the result is better. If you are not sure about the microphone location on your specific model, please contact us at service@soundcore.com and we will provide you with a picture showing where the microphone is located on your specific speaker model.

If you are not able to hear the sound from the other side during a call, even when the speaker is paired with your phone properly, you can try the following steps:

• Confirm the speaker is paired with your phone via Bluetooth.
• Set the Soundcore speaker rather than the phone itself as the sound output device.
• Make sure the volume on both the speaker and the paired device is turned up.
• Try the speaker with another phone.

Note: the Mic on our speaker does not work in AUX mode and you can't connect it with your phone via a cable for a call.
