Playtime on Anker Liberty Buds 2 varies by which sound mode and features you're using. This article breaks down what to expect from each mode.

Playtime by Mode (Earbuds Only / With Charging Case)

• Normal Mode: about 12 hours / 46 hours — the longest playtime.

• ANC Mode: about 7 hours / 27 hours.

• Transparency Mode: about 7 hours / 27 hours.

• Adaptive Mode: about 7 hours / 27 hours.

• Calls with ANC on: about 4 hours / 15.5 hours.

• Dolby Atmos with ANC on: about 4 hours / 15.5 hours.

• LDAC (Adaptive, 660kbps) with ANC on: about 4.5 hours / 17.5 hours.

Note: 

These figures come from testing at room temperature, with factory settings and 50% volume in music mode. They are a reference for comparing modes against each other. Actual playtime varies depending on factors such as volume, audio source, environmental interference, and which app features are enabled.

If Playtime Is Shorter Than Expected

1. Make sure the earbuds are fully charged before you start.

2. LDAC gives you higher-quality sound, and the higher power consumption that comes with it is normal.

3. Turn off features you aren't using in the app, such as Dolby Atmos, to conserve battery.

4. Battery performance naturally decreases over time and with frequent use. This is normal.

Choosing a Mode for More Playtime

If you're trying to stretch a single charge, Normal Mode will get you the most hours. ANC, Transparency, and Adaptive Mode land in a similar middle range, so switching off LDAC or Dolby Atmos when you don't specifically need them makes more of a difference than switching between those three. And if you're caught low on battery, fast charging gives you up to 4 hours of playback in Normal Mode from 10 minutes of charging — note that the battery must be fully depleted first.

If One Earbud Drains Faster Than the Other

The earbuds have a primary and a secondary earbud, and the primary typically uses more power than the secondary. A difference of under 10%, or under an hour of playtime, is normal.

If the gap is larger than that, clean the pogo pins on both earbuds and confirm the case is showing accurate battery levels for each while they charge — a dirty contact on just one side is the most common cause of an unusually large gap.
