What should I do if the ANC performance on my soundcore Space 2 doesn't meet my expectations?
If you feel that the noise cancellation effect is not as effective as expected, please try the following:
Why do I feel strong ear pressure when using ANC on my soundcore Space 2?
By default, ANC is enabled when the headphones are powered on, and the noise reduction depth is relatively effective. ANC may create a noticeable sensation of in-ear pressure, especially for users sensitive to pressure changes.
You can reduce this sensation by:
-
Lowering the ANC level in the soundcore app, or
-
Switching to a different mode if needed.
Why do I hear a popping sound on my soundcore Space 2 when I am using ANC mode?
When using Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), you may occasionally notice a brief popping sound. This can happen in a few different situations and is related to changes in air pressure inside the ear cushions.
-
When squeezing the ear cushions
-
The shape of the ear cushions change when they are pressed or squeezed, which temporarily alters the air pressure inside the ear cup chamber and causes a popping sound. This is normal and usually stops as soon as you release the ear cushion.
-
If the sound continues even after releasing them, try adjusting the headphones.
-
When not touching the headphones
You may also hear a brief popping sound in ANC mode during certain movements, such as: riding in a car on uneven roads, walking downhill, or jumping or landing. These movements can momentarily change the effectiveness of the ear cushions' seal. The effect varies from person to person, depending on factors like fit and head shape.
To reduce this:
-
Adjust the headband to improve the overall fit.
-
Reposition the ear cushions so they sit more evenly and seal better against your head.
-
Reduce excessive movement.
Why do I notice background noise or a humming sound when using ANC on my soundcore Space 2?
When ANC is enabled, some users may notice a faint background noise or continuous humming sound. This is related to how ANC works — the system actively processes surrounding sounds, and in some cases this processing can produce a low-level residual noise. The effect varies depending on ear-cup fit, head shape, and the surrounding environment. Users with more sensitive hearing may notice this more easily.
Things to try first
-
Adjust the fit. Make sure the ear cushions sit evenly and seal closely against your head. A loose seal can cause a humming sound, especially in low-frequency environments.
-
Remove the headphones and check whether the sound is coming from the environment itself. ANC cannot completely eliminate all noise sources — it works by combining active and passive noise cancellation to reduce noise levels, not remove them entirely.
If the issue persists, we have a dedicated firmware update available that addresses it.
-
Open the soundcore App.
-
Tap the gear icon ⚙️ in the top right corner of your headphone's device page.
-
Note down your serial number (SN) from the Settings page, then tap Help & Feedback.
-
Describe your issue, provide your SN, and mention that you are experiencing ANC background noise on your soundcore Space 2.
-
Our team will push the targeted firmware update to your device.
Notes
-
In very quiet environments, ANC is designed to maintain a low-level ambient sound rather than complete silence — a small amount of residual noise is normal and expected.
-
ANC works best with steady, low-frequency sounds like engine hum or air conditioning. It is intended to reduce, not completely block out, surrounding noise.
-
In vehicles, slight shifts in perceived noise level are normal — ANC continuously adapts to changes in road and engine noise.
-
The microphones on both sides of the headphones play an important role in how ANC and Transparency mode work. If you accidentally cover them, the mode may not perform as expected or you may notice a brief sound. Simply move your hand away and it should return to normal.
Why does sound in Transparency mode sound louder than expected?
Transparency mode is designed to help you hear your surroundings clearly, so ambient sounds may be slightly amplified.
-
Try using this mode in a quieter environment to verify if the volume is appropriate.
