Troubleshooting for SmartTrack Devices When There Is Unwanted Tracking
If SmartTrack is separated from its owner and is seen moving with you over time, you'll be notified in one of two ways.
These features were created specifically to discourage people from trying to track you without your knowledge.
- If you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, Find My will notify you on your Apple device. This feature is available on iOS or iPadOS 14.5 or later. This usually happens after SmartTrack has been away from its owner for more than 24 hours.
- If you don't have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, a SmartTrack that isn't with its owner for a period of time will emit a sound when it's moved. This usually happens after SmartTrack has been away from its owner for more than 72 hours.
Why does the SmartTrack make sound when I move it?
This is part of the unwanted tracking notification function. When SmartTrack has been away from its owner for more than 72 hours, it will make a sound when it detects motion. If you don't want SmartTrack to make sound, please make sure SmartTrack has connected to the owner's Apple device at least once within the last 72 hours.
