Which app do I use?
eufySecurity app. You can download it on Google Play or Apple Store.
Can you use the eufy system with Android galaxy?
Yes, it is compatible with Android phones with system 8.0 or above. Learn more about Requirements for Using eufySecurity Devices.
Does the eufyCam 3/3C system require Wi-Fi?
Yes, the HomeBase 3 has to connect to the Internet via Ethernet cable.
Does this work with 5G Wi-Fi?
It can't work with 5G Wi-Fi. It only works with 2.4G Wi-Fi.
Does this support POE for the cameras instead of using Wi-Fi?
No, it doesn’t.
Do I need to subscribe to a cloud service to record videos?
No. Recording footage doesn’t require a subscription. The footage is saved to the built-in storage if you don’t subscribe to a cloud backup service.
If you want to back up your video clips in the cloud at the same time, subscribing to a cloud backup service will be a good choice. And please note that recording footage in the cloud has a storage time limit of different plans, the recording footage will be automatically deleted when the storage time limit is reached and can not be recovered.
After 3 months of local storage, do I have to subscribe and make a monthly payment?
The recording will be overwritten when the storage is full and you don't need to subscribe and make a monthly payment.
Can I transfer the local videos stored in the HomeBase 3 to my computer?
You can back up your footage by plugging in a USB Stick via USB port 1 on the back of the HomeBase. The backup videos will be converted to MP4 format.
Can I access stored recordings remotely?
If the system is working properly and your phone has access to the Internet, you will be able to access recordings stored in the built-in eMMC card remotely.
Does this have the ability to constantly record?
No, it doesn’t.
What is the maximum number of cameras that can be attached to one HomeBase 3?
At most 16 cameras and 34 sensors.
What is the average data consumption needed per month?
In most common scenarios, a HomeBase and two cameras will consume about 528 MB per month. The test was done in the following conditions:
- Live view three times per camera per day
- Live view for 30 seconds each time
- The streaming rate is 100KB/s.
The data consumption varies, depending on the number of times the live feed is watched, live streaming time duration, and streaming rate.
How many lumens is the spotlight on eufyCam 3C?
The spotlight is 12 LUX at a 1m distance.
Does the eufyCam 3/3C has to be used with the HomeBase?
Yes, eufyCam must be used with HomeBase. EufyCam relies on proprietary power-saving Wi-Fi and low-frequency wireless protocols for communication in order to reduce power consumption and establish a secure connection, so connecting eufyCam to regular Wi-Fi networks is not possible.
Can I set schedules for eufyCam 3/3C?
Yes, you can set Home/Away Mode to enable/disable recordings, notifications, and alarms at specific times. Then the Schedule Model can be enabled: App> Security Page> Mode> Schedule.
Does the eufyCam 3/3C System support RTSP/NAS?
Yes. The system supports RTSP streaming, footage can be saved to NAS. You can find this in the menu Camera Settings > General > Storage > RTSP/NAS.
The NAS requires you to run proper surveillance software with RTSP protocol support.
Which brand of NAS eufySecurity support?
1. The RTSP feature on eufyCam only works with the NAS which supports the RTSP protocol.
2. Synology NAS is verified and compatible with eufy Security.
Does the eufyCam 3/3C System support SMB / FTP / ONVIF / CFIS?
We don’t have plans to support SMB/FTP/ONVIF/CFIS yet.
Does the eufyCam 3/3C System support Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive?
We don’t have plans to support 3rd-party cloud backup yet.
Does the system work with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and HomeKit?
The system supports Amazon Alexa.
For Google Assistant, Google Hub and Nest Hub are supported.
HomeKit is still undergoing development, please stay tuned!
Does the system work with other smart home platforms?
We don’t have plans to support SmartThings, Wink, Nest, Home Assistant, or Blue Iris yet.
