You have both options available, please note that both HomeBase and Cam3 only support 2.4GHz networks and not 5GHz.
During the setup process, HomeBase must connect to a router via an Ethernet cable. After setup, HomeBase can be switched to a Wi-Fi connection in the Device Tab> HomeBase > HomeBase Settings > Connection.

Detection sensitivity, mounting height, and mounting angle will determine the detection distance.
We recommend that you adjust the detection sensitivity as needed. The installation height should not exceed 3m, and the installation tilt angle should not exceed 25°. Due to the PIR characteristics of the camera, it is recommended that you install the camera side as much as possible.
The motion sensor can detect objects lateral moving up to 25-30ft (8-10m) away.
