Motion Detection Settings of SoloCam E42

About Motion Detection

Detection sensitivity, mounting height and mounting angle will determine the detection distance. We recommend that you adjust the detection sensitivity as needed. 

The installation height should not exceed 3m, and the installation tilt angle should not exceed 15°. Please check In-app setup

Due to the PIR characteristics of the camera, it is recommended that you install the camera side as much as possible. The motion sensor can detect objects lateral moving up to 25-30ft (8-10m) away.

 

Why isn't my camera detecting motion?

1. Please make sure the area you want to detect is located in the camera viewing area (≤8m/26ft). You can test the motion detection in your app by going to My Devices > Select Camera > Camera Settings > Motion detection. Also, please make sure if you have enabled motion detection on your camera settings.

2. Please try to turn up the sensitivity level. 

3. Please make sure you have enabled Video Record and Push Notification in the security mode you have selected. You can go to Security > Home/Away > Home/Away Settings > Video Record & Push Notification.

4. Please try to remove the camera and add the camera again in the app.

 

What is the detection range of the motion sensor? 

It depends on the mounting height and angle. The sensor can detect objects moving as far as 25-30ft (8-10m) away for the straight line distance.

 

Does SoloCam E42 detect cars?

Yes.

 

About Activity Zone

With Activity Zones, you can define a specific area of interest in your camera view and get notified when there’s motion there, so the alerts become more specific and meaningful. To use Activity Zones, you don't need any subscription or additional fee, simply to set up in the eufySecurity app. Activity Zones won’t change what your camera sees. 

 

What will happen when I set the activity zone?

1. If someone enters the zone, the system will send a push notification and record clips.

2. If someone does not enter the zone but is in the camera viewing image, the system will not record and send a notification.

 

What will happen when I set an Activity Zone? 

Activity Zones allow you to define a specific area where you want motion to be detected. Everything outside is ignored, so you avoid unnecessary event videos.

 

Setup Activity Zone

You can use Activity Zones to exclude frequently or publicly accessed areas, such as sidewalks or roads, or only to look at a doorway.
