Mapping Instructions and Tips for the S1 Robot

This article is designed to provide instructions and tips on how to quickly map your home with the S1 robot.

Initial Mapping

When you first set up your S1 robot or use it in a new environment, you will need to initiate the mapping process. To do this, simply tap on the "Mapping" icon in the eufy Clean app. The S1 robot will automatically begin the process of mapping your entire home, which is a rapid scan of the home's layout.

As the robot explores your home, it will generate a map that is displayed on the eufy Clean app. Please note that the mapping process is not complete until the map's color changes from gray to full color, indicating a successful map creation.

Mapping Tips

The S1 robot will take a few minutes to explore your home without cleaning to create a map. To ensure accurate mapping:

  1. Start the S1 robot from its Uniclean™ Station.

  2. Open the doors to all of the rooms that you would like the S1 robot to enter.

  3. Remove toys, wires, and other loose items from the floor.

  4. Please do not manually interfere with the S1 robot's mapping path or manually move it during the mapping process. The S1 robot will automatically return to its Uniclean™ Station once it has finished mapping your home.

In the unlikelihood of the S1 robot missing any area during its initial mapping process, it will automatically update and optimize the map during its subsequent cleaning sessions.

Editing a Saved Map

Once a map is saved, the S1 robot will use its algorithm to divide the map into different rooms. If you are not satisfied with the layout of the automatic room division, you can manually merge, divide, or name the rooms to better suit your preferences and needs.

Additionally, you have the option to set "No-go" zones, virtual walls, and "No-mop" zones to further customize the cleaning areas according to your preferences and needs.

Creating a New Map

In the "Manage Map" section of the app, you can delete saved maps or initiate the creation of new maps. This function is particularly useful if you move the S1 robot to a different floor or a new home.

Please note that the S1 robot can store up to six maps, with five of the maps saved under the "Map Management" page and one of the maps displayed on the home page. While the displayed map can be cleaned, it will not be saved. To manually save the displayed map, the app will ask you to replace one of the saved maps.
