This guide is designed to help you set up your 4G Starlight Camera in the eufy Security app. For specific eufy Security app functions, please refer to eufy Security App Function Guide.
Preparation Before Setting Up the 4G Startlight Camera
1. Prepare a SIM Card.
- If you purchase the 4G Startlight camera in US/UK/EU online, there should be an EIOTCLUB SIM Card that comes with the camera. (Note: An MVNO EIOTCLUB prepaid 4G LTE cellular SIM card is included in the package for 100MB of free data within 7 days)
- If the camera is purchased from other channels, customers may need to prepare a SIM card. To choose a SIM card, you can refer to 4G Starlight Camera SIM Card Guide.
2. Fully charge the 4G Startlight camera.
- If the LED indicator has a blue light, it means the camera has enough power.
- To charge the camera, please use the provided Micro-USB charging cable and a 9V/2A, 5V/2A, or 5V/1A USB charger.
- It usually takes about 4 to 6 hours to charge the camera from 0 to 100%.
3. Download eufySecurity App and create an account
- eufySecurity app is compatible with Android OS (8.0+) and iOS (11+) phones and tablets. Learn more about eufySecurity App.
- Please make sure you have downloaded the latest version of eufySecurity app. You can Download the eufy Security app from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices). Or visit eufylife.com on your mobile device.
- After downloading the eufy Security app, please create or log in to your account. Learn more about Sign Up for a New eufy Security Account.
Add Your 4G Starlight Camera to the App
- Device Page > ”+” icon > Add Device > 4G Starlight Camera.
- Choose a Home profile or add a new Home profile.
- Insert an activated SIM card. You can refer to the following article for detailed information in regard to choosing a compatible SIM card: 4G Starlight Camera SIM Card Guide
- Scan the QR code on the camera. The QR Code should be located on the camera. Please refer to the following picture.
- Complete the setup process.
- If you chose a SIM card from 4G Starlight Camera SIM Card Guide, please try “Connect Directly”. And then, please hold SYNC for 2 seconds until you hear a beep and see the LED flash blue.
- If you would like to test other kinds of SIM cards, we recommend you choose “APN Configuration”
Please enter the APN protocol provided by your carrier. Additionally, you can refer to the following link for more information: How to configure the APN information on the 4G Starlight Camera?
Press the SYNC button on the camera for two seconds until you hear a beeping sound, the app will then show a connecting interface on the screen and you should be able to hear a voice prompt “Network connection successful”.
The app will then enter the connection process, please wait until you hear a voice prompt “Setup successful” and the app should show that the camera has connected successfully.
