WetVac W31 supports a vacuuming mode for only vacuuming the floor and a mopping mode for vacuuming and mopping the floor at the same time.

Can I use the WetWac W31 only for vacuuming? 

Simply press and then release the water spray button as shown by the picture below, then water and floor cleaner will spray onto the rolling brush. 

When the rolling brush becomes dry, you can press the water spray button again since it will not spray water continually. This design is to conserve water and users do not need to add water into the tank during cleaning; on the other hand, the floors will not become slippery with too much water. Please rest assured that it is safe and convenient to use the water spray function on the WetWac W31.
