How to Avoid Missing Motion Detection from eufy S220 SoloCam

eufy S220 SoloCam may sometimes miss motion events based on several factors, please refer to the following common factors that may lead to the camera missing motion events and how to correct these issues.

 
  • Cause: Generally, your camera will not detect any minor movement if the motion detection sensitivity of the camera is set too low, which is likely to result in missing motion events.

Solution: In order to minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can increase the sensitivity level. Please launch the eufy Security app > select the Devices tab > S220 SoloCam > Camera Settings > Motion Detection > adjust the Detection Sensitivity setting accordingly. Additionally, the Motion Test Mode function in the Motion Detection setting is also a useful tool to utilize when it comes to determining an ideal motion sensitivity setting according to your user environment. 

 
  • Cause: By default, eufy S220 SoloCam will detect all motion events including humans and non-human objects, such as cars and animals. In order to minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, it is recommended to set the camera to detect all motion events.

Solution: In order to minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can set the type of motion that the camera detects to all motion activities from both humans and non-human objects. Please launch the eufy Security app > select the Devices tab > S220 SoloCam > Camera Settings > Motion Detection > set it to All Motions. Additionally, you can also increase the Detection Sensitivity setting after the Detection Type has been set to All Motions.

 
  • Cause: eufy S220 SoloCam will detect motion when motion activities occur inside the camera’s field of view or customized activity zones. If the camera has activity zones configured, it may miss motion activities that occur outside of the customized activity zones.

Solution: In order to minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can either not set any activity zones or remove existing activity zones. Please launch the eufy Security app > select the Devices tab > S220 SoloCam > Camera Settings > Motion Detection > Activity Zone > remove activity zones and your S220 SoloCam will be monitoring all motion activities in the camera’s entire field of view.
