Why Does the Side Brush Bristles Bend?
The side brush is designed to collect and sweep dirt and debris from corners and edges. The bristles of the brush are soft and flexible so that they can bend or curve during work. This is normal and will not affect the cleaning performance of the robot vacuum.
However, if the side brush is severely bent or damaged, it may not work properly and needs replacement. In most cases, a bent side brush can be easily fixed with some simple maintenance.
How to Fix Bent Side Brush Bristles?
For daily maintenance, you can follow these steps to fix bent side brush bristles:
1. Remove the side brush from the robot vacuum.
2. Put the side brush into hot water for a few minutes. The hot water will soften the bristles and make them more pliable.
3. Pour out the hot water and let the side brush bristles cool down for a few seconds.
4. Straighten the bristles with your hands. Pull the bristles in the opposite direction of the bend until they are straight. Alternatively, you can run hot water over the brush bristles and pull slightly as the water is running over it. This will reshape the bristles like they are brand new.
5. Let the side brush bristles dry completely before reattaching it to the robot vacuum. Please understand that bent side brush bristles can easily be fixed with simple maintenance.
By following the steps above, you can straighten the bristles and restore the cleaning performance of your robot. If the side brush bristles are severely bent or damaged, you may need to replace them with new ones.
